Growing up in Czech Village, “the Avenue” was an experience. On Saturday nights you couldn’t even get a parking spot! There was great food, friendly people, and a meeting place for those of Czech ancestry. The NCSML has been a boost to “the Avenue.

I moved to CR in 1965 and my parents rented the house that became the first museum. Because of this I volunteer at the NCSML. A fond memory was of the crosswalk sign being in Czech & English.
